My truck only has a 3 inch body lift and 35's, the only issue is going to be that it is harder on your trans with the low gearing, I have had mine on for 5 years though and no issues. But do not expect good MPG, these tires weigh a lot.

Also depends how hard you are going to wheel it, if you are hard on it, then regear, if not, then do not worry.

But then again I also run a 5.8 and not a 5.0. But I am still running an auto trans...........

Well, I could tell u if I knew what gears you have. It depends. If you have lower stock gears then you should be fine...

My guess is the gears are pretty high with the auto and small V8. I did not regear my 78' running 36's but I had a four speed.

You'll lose some power but it can be done. I'm running 2.73s with 33s and its super slow... Can't imagine it with 35s

Not to steal the thread, but how big of tires can you run with 3.55s? I looked in the truck manual today and I think that's what I have according to the vin

I had the 3.55s which I feel would be better with a 32-33" tire, I have 31s. I switched to 3.08s to see how I liked them for mileage but I don't. I think my best ratio for the 31s would have been the 3.30s but I'm going back to the 3.55s and stepping up the tire size.

Ok so a 32 or 33 would actually be better?

Not sure yet. I haven't got that far into testing.
