Pulling Codes (Not about how)
I know how to pull codes, I promise.
My question is my truck has had quite a bit done without ever pulling codes. I am about to pull them with a reader next week, if I clear them now (ie disconnect the battery) to get rid of any errant ones that may exist how long should it take for the computer to trip one that is actually relevant? I normally drive 100-200 miles every day or two. That should be more than enough time right?

Yes. Those trip times are more then enough. When I had issues with my EGR, the CEL would light up about a block after clearing the code. Others will take longer, but all should be present within a day or two.
If you have the scanner, I'd recommend writing down all the codes before clearing them. If you don't have the scanner, I recommend taking a quick video with a camera or phone of the flashes. Then you can decode them inside.

Yes, to see which ones are still active. After changing parts should fix some of the codes that are being activated and separate the ones you had before and the ones you will have after wards.
Does anyone else have a code reader? Just curious about other peoples experiences with them. The manual with this one says a certain icon will stay on for 30 seconds when all the codes have been read, but after waiting a few minutes it never goes past the first one and the icon never comes on.
