Default power windows

My friend on vacation so I got the truck full time in the back yard now.Yesterday I aligned the sagging doors now they shut right. After that I put a vaccum block switch from a aquarium bubbler in the vaccum circuit so the air stops turning off when you pull hills.A whopping 2 bucks and 5 minute fix.My question is why dont they just make it that way from the factory?Ummm Kay.Also I peeled off the door panel to see why the drivers power window was not working. So todays adventure is taking out the motor and replacing that nylon gear.Oil been changed tune up done.He about set till it time to pull that white fender back off and jamb it(paint it behind). And reinstall it right. The guy we got the truck from had the magic touch. He destroyed anything he touched.Thank god he did not have it long. His aunt the original owner took awsome care of it.He only had it a few months long enough to wreck it and tear up a few things.Well off to the parts place.

Well the nylon gear to metal gear area was destroyed.Replaced it.Then the motor was squeeling rolling down the window. So I got to enjoy disassembling it again. As well as the electric motor.Blew it out with brake cleaner and compressed air.Greased the motor bearings.Problem solved. Now the vent circuit on my buddies truck the selector switch trashed. But it will work in a pinch. The air check valve is from wal mart in the aquarium section. It keeps water from entering the air pump.

I used larger diameter vacuum tube from engine to first diverter valve(more vacuum). And I inserted it in line before it entered firewall to the vacuum control circuit in dash.Under heavy throttle it closes and holds the vacuum already stored inside dash.I ran it full throttle up the steepest hill I could find and cold air kept blowing out the dash on me.Instead of wherever it wants. It was nailed 45 seconds no change.I had done the same thing to my van years ago.Forgot about it till I was driving on the freeway and air kept cutting out.

You don't need the vacuum deal, you need to find the actual problem. Trash talk the previous owner and then post that kind of half *** repair. Sounds like you guys have something in common.

"Why dont they make it that way from the factory" Because there wasn't a problem from the factory. Your truck has a problem now. Inserting an aquarium check valve is a bandaid, an interesting one to boot. You have a small vacuum line that is leaking if the truck blows all air out of the defroster vents under a load. Check the line going to the recycle vent under the hood, passenger side, next to the AC evaporator.

What is half assed 2 bucks it fixed.Do you think the truck cares how much the part cost?I did not leave the blower motor laying in the engine bay unhooked.I did not leave the window motor laying in the bottom of the door where I found it.Or the headlight hanging by one screw. What is your problem?

It definitely needs all its vacuum lines replaced and a new interior switch.Right now priority was getting the doors to work and making things work that were just hanging by wires. The pass side fender only held on by a few bolts and anything near it was unhooked.now the doors and window works, air working. Now getting the Fender painted inside and prepping the truck for paint.I thought the air fix was a nice deal instead of paying big bucks or doing without while other safety issues which were more important were neglected.Doors that wont stay closed or headlights falling out on the road.Seans right using only ford parts or do without that the right thing to do.

Don't get me wrong, it's a good half *** repair if it's working like you say. What I meant was don't let it kick your ***. It's not going to get any better and eventually it might not even get enough vacuum to work.

I agree it will have to be dealt with. After the big stuff handled we go after this stuff.Right now the carnage caused by the fender issue eating the funds. We are undoing major damage he did while putting on the fender. And today while messing with that I did notice all the vacuum lines are shot.We just got the truck we just want everything to work right now.Once it getting straight we go after this kind of stuff.I know I will have the dash apart replacing that and I dont look forward to it.The hard lines going inside are brittle.
