it is kinda a bandaid fix but it could also be pretty helpfull, i've had a few 4.9l and it seams they always lose vac. under a heavy engine load. and one of my trucks i replaced every single line and it would still do it, not as bad but i live there are some long hills and it would still lose it.
why are you guys hounding this guy about it anyways???
i've seen some fixes on here that you guys love. (over wraping the alt when you pull off the smog pump is one of them, becasue you wont buy the smog delete pulley,)
i personally think this is a great idea to use. hell your brake booster has the same thing on it.
seems to help it out alot.

You can't overwrap the alternator. Running the belt how I had it is perfectly fine and you don't have to buy a pulley. I was just letting him know it probably won't last so don't count on it working forever. I'm sure people question some of the stuff I've done, particularly the metal I welded to my center support bracket to keep the driveshaft from popping out the bearing. But it keeps in the bearing and keeps me from having to buy a driveshaft.
I guess I was in a mood with that first post, but I did ease up on him.

It all good sean I got fired up to.Astro vans do it from the day they made. The air goes to the floor when you accelerate. I just assumed the trucks did the same thing.Anyway the one on the van has lasted 5 years so far.Best 2 bucks I ever spent.Enough Tom Foolery Back to trucks. It runnin good now.Doors and windows work.Lights are not falling out.Fender not flapping in the breeze anymore.Air works killer now.My buddy the owner gets back from vacation tomorrow. He will be thrilled. Then we will see what the next undertaking will be.I am pretty sure it bodywork.I think he wants it dark cherry color to match his bike.I know for sure the white fender on a lavender because it faded truck is not floating his boat.I see red primer slowly engulfing the truck till it ready.
