Default No Reverse Lights

1992 F150 Inline 6 - 5speed manual
I do not have reverse lights
Everything else working fine
Checked all fuses
Lights look good
Replaced Backup switch on driver side rear of transmission and noticed on the wire, about a foot from where it attaches to the switch there is a black round coupler............opened the coupler wondering what it is and there is nothing inside of it.........should there be?

Either way, why else would I not have reverse lights but all other lights working fine

Wrong senction, but it sounds like it's got an inline fuse (the black round "coupler"). Take out the bulbs and use a test light to see if you're getting current to the bulb. If no try it at the switch.

I found that fuse position letter E was blown................this is in the fuse box under the hood.
I also found that this fuse also connects to the Heater Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor

Trying to find a diagram of where that sensor is located. Can anyone assist?

The reverse light switch is on top of the transmission.

I already replaced the backup switch............I am trying to find the location of the HEGO (Heater Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor) which is on the same fuse.

No, you replaced the VSS on the drivers side rear.

Oh really...........does the VSS have anything to do with reverse lights?
What is it?
So the switch for the reverse lights is on top of the tranny?
Do you what the switch is called.............want to make sure I get the right part.
Keep blowing this same fuse............see that the fuse that I spoke to supports the Heater Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor and the reverse light switch...............
Just want to make sure I know where the switch and sensor are located so that I am working on the right parts.
A diagram would sure help...........and the correct part numbers would even help more

Technically yours shouldn't have a VSS there but it's possible they used the last of the '91 trannys in your '92 so it would. The reverse light switch is on the top plate of the tranny near the shifter.
