Mine didn't seem to be slow till midrange area, maybe 50-75 or so. Both ends of the sped spectrum it seems to run good, top and bottom end speed.

BTW, the fuel pump is in the tank on these models, 1989 down have the inline fuel pump (I think, my 1986 FI 302 had inline fuel pump)
Check the fuel pressure, those trucks have to run higher pressure because the fuel injectors are only 12/lb per hr instead of the 19/lb per hr the v8's have (for vapor lock purposes from what I have read, not sure though)
Learn somethin new.....

A timing bump really flattens out the hills, but the engine has to be otherwise healthy.

2.73 gears are fairly high with bigger tires, could be a portion of the 'sluggishness'... otherwise, do what ymeski56 recommended, he's got stock in Seafoam, I'm pretty sure, but it does work well.

Having a hard time swallowing 12 for injectors in I-6's I could see 17's cause the pump pressure is higher, but 12's? Anybody else want to corroborate that? I'll give you 19 stock in 8 cyls., that's what I have in mine!

yea i always thought the 6's used 19 lbers as well......I mean, why would they want to run 3 diferent lb style injectors in their engines instead of 2?
