Need some help please
New to the forum so hi to everyone. I have an 89 f150 4.9 and Im having some starting issues. I bought the truck 4 days ago and everything ran fine. Started on my way home and it just died like it was out of gas. Well I towed it home and started checking on everything.
I disconnected the fuel lines from the tank valve switch and have fuel coming out of both tanks. I checked for fuel after the hi pressure pump and it was barely coming out, so I replaced the hi pressure pump and the fuel filter. I also replaced the relay and checked for spark but nothing. I checked for fuel on the rail and it seems to spray out but mostly air, not much fuel coming out. Also before when I would switch tanks it would read the level in both but now the needle doesnt move. Im leaning towards a bad tank switching valve or something else electrical.
If I cycle the key on and off a few times now to pressurize and then try to start it will act like its going to start and then keep on turning over. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What relay was replaced? Am trying to remember back to the EEC IV system. I believe the EEV IV relay has to be energized to get power to the fuel relay and also for spark. Try to find that relay.

thanks for the help guys. I replaced the high pressure pump and the fuel filter. Still had a no start but then I just kept cranking on it and this morning it finally started up. Drove it around for a little while and no problems.
