Default lost in electrics?

Have a 95 F150, 5.0. Am trying to install aftermarket tach. Instructions say to hook the red wire to a system that is only hot in run position. Have been going nuts trying to find a lead under dash. Does anyone know which lead fits the bill.
Thanks

It's not under the dash it's under the hood. There is a small rectangle box with lots of wires going into it. The yellow with brown stripe is the one I hooked mine up to. Give me untill 4ish and I'll post up pics of what I did to mine I'm in diesel tech right now.

Plenty of places under the dash, you just need a voltmeter to find one.

Try the fuse box. The fuse for the dual tank selector switch is only hot in run, and if your truck is like mine, you have no inclination to fix the back tank

Default Thanks all

Yep welder. I will be able to find the wire now, I am using the same tach you installed.
Will also look at the fuel tank selector wire. Both my tanks work so maybe can just splice into the wire. Never know till I try.

Also, is there any way to get the single wires out of a multy plug. Would make splicing so much easier to just pull the wire and soder the splice close to the connecter.
Again thanks all

I hope your not talking about splicing the tach wire to the tank selector switch
