Default I've got a problem...

I have an 89 f150 302 5 spd extended cab
Alright...so i was changing the oil for the first time since i purchased my truck, i put about 2k miles on it and figured it was about time.

I drained the oil and go to take the old filter off...guess what it won't budge, so then I decide to try with a strap and i crushed the old oil filter.

I've done several oil changes on my old ranger and i have never had this problem.

so...i guess i get to have it towed and bring it to a shop, only question, should i put alittle oil back in the truck just so it has some in the pan, or just leave it empty?

As long as you're not going to start the motor, suggest you'll be fine leaving things drained for a few days.

This is why God invented adjustable channel locks! I've also had luck driving a screwdriver through one, close to the base as possible. It's not like your going to reuse it! Whatever you do. working as close as possible to the base helps.

I'd go with ymeski56 suggestions.
I've had to do the screwdriver and channel locks trick, too.

It's not like they're gonna have a special tool you don't have, they will have to manhandle it off, also.

Careful though, I once ripped my thumb open right at the nail on a stubborn oil filter.

I got 5 quarts of oil outta the car, and 2 quarts of blood outta my thumb.
