I have had great luck with this type. The tighter you wrench on it the tighter it gets. there is also enough room in the f-150 to use this one. (at least the ones I have run into)

^ we use on of those on the farm for tractors and such. for the record, they dont work well on a cavelier. but then agein what does? lol

ya i used one of those and crushed the oil filter, still wouldn't budge. I just brought my truck to a shop, because i needed the valve cover gasket replaced anyways. I appreciate the suggestion though
