Default intermitted wiper switch ??

Hello all I’ve been lurking on here for some time now. Posted replies couple of times but the time has come to start asking questions.
I have a 1994 F150 XLT 4x4 ext-cab short bed, 4.9, 5 Speed.
My intermitted wipers are starting to not work correctly so I’m looking at replacing to switch.
Any hints from someone that has done this before? It feels like it is just in the switch and from finding the part on line it looks like I can buy just the switch and not have to replace the wiring am I correct?
Any tips on pulling the steering wheel and air bag?
Thanks in advance.

Probably not the switch. I'd suspect the interval governor first.

Interval governor? Ok is that anything like a muffler bearing??
No, OK what is it?
My wipers work fine on low or high setting its just in the intermitted range. When I use the intermitted setting no matter where I set the switch, there is no set speed they seem to be just hit and miss. Or it could be the only speed that is working is the lowest no matter the switch is set.

It governs the interval of the wipers man. It controls when they move.

Ok now not trying to start out on a bad note here but the interval governor is a term that I’m not familiar with. I’m assuming it is going to be listed in a Chilton manual??
Is it a replaceable part itself or is it integrated into something else?

Internal govenor is built right into the wiper motor, you can see it under the hood on your firewall.

I thought that was the governor that did the job until you elected the new governor...
