yeah its fuel injected. has a throttle body and fuel injectors. unless it is carbed? well if it runs, than thats a good indication that they at least arent 100% blocked. if this is the case, some injector cleaners run thru your gas should help. if they are clogged, clean them or replace them.

Anything with a throttle body has injectors. Where the injectors are depends on the type of fuel injection. You have eight, one for each cylinder.

This is, of course, assuming that the guy who told you this knows his *** from a hole in the ground.

This is true! He is an idiot, but seems like a nice guy, just not all there. Whats strange is Ive seen the truck in his yard, and never realized it was the same one. It sits less than a mile from my house. Picking it up today ,I hope. An y way I can check these to see if they are stuck. The inj. are probably the originals, and last I saw the truck it had around 250000 miles on it. I know it sat for about 3 years, but I was told by my step-sister the current owner did get it running, but it wasnt running good at all.

BTW, just bare with me, Im just getting a Ford for the first time in a while, with exception to an 01, which was a Powerstroke. Ive been in Chevies since 93, but hey, my first car was a Festiva! Im a pretty fair wrench, just dont have the technical knowledge to make a living at nothing more than changing oil. I collect and restore antique tractors, so I do know how to wrench on something. My use of certain terms may not be exactly right, for what I try to say!

well if it runs badly after sitting for 3 years, it probably has some bad gas in the tank. i wouldnt worry about the injectors being stuck, even though it is possible.

I think the fuel pressure regulator is bound to be gummed up..not the injectors.

Can it be cleaned or does it have top be repalced, and where is it located. I planning on a service before I even try and start it. Picked up some "service items" on my way home today including a fuel filter. I do rememeber one time Dad had it towed home because he ran out of gas, and after we put about 5 gallons in it, it still wouldnt start. Buddy of his came over and hit that reset, she fired right up. Gonna make sure I do that too....
