Default How to install cab lights?

Just got a great deal on some lightly used cab lights. I can't wait to get these things on!!! But what I can't figure out is the wiring. How am I supposed to wire the lights up without drilling through the entire roof? And I also have heard of the rumored pig tail in one of the kick panels that's pre wired for these lights? Any information is great guys, and the sooner the better. I'm stupid excited

I'm assuming you have to drill through the roof to run the wires under the metal. I'm not sure about the pigtail, but my visor is wired to my driverside headlight.

you gotta drill holes to run wires for the lights, and yes there is a pigtail behind the passenger kick panel for factory clearance lights.

I don't know how my wires were ran, my lights were there. Since my base model doesn't have a headliner the second layer of steel is exposed and no access to run wires between the inner and outer layers. Probably have to use a fish tape.

I got some smoked ones for Christmas but havent gotten around to it yet. We're you planning to do evenly all across or 3 in the middle and 2 to the sides?

Watching this post. I'm wanting to install cab lights but have put it off due to not wanting to drill through the inside metal. Can't wait for an answer.

i know on the 92+ trucks they have a loose wire down by the inertia switch that powers the cab lights, IIRC it is a brown wire. not sure about the 91- trucks though.

My reading tells me 80 to 91 have the loose wire for em in the driver side kick panel

I'd be doing them evenly spaced on the roof.

Sean... What's fish tape?
