It's a spool of stiff wire, similar to a tape measure, that you use to fish wires down walls.

Or you can just drill through both sets of metal on the roof

I don't have a headliner anymore and no real plans to ever have another... Can't be putting holes in both layers lol

Do you not have the metal trim? I don't have a headliner either, but the trim was still installed from the factory. My lighted rearview mirror wires are run into the metal trim above the windshield. I'm still debating the cab lights. I'd really like a miniature set. Something like these led bolts. I think they'd look awesome at night and barely be noticeable during the day.

Or I'm considering doing the raptor style grill leds using the same bolts. My hold up is that I still want to get my grill guard completed when I get time and another roll of welding wire and I'd probably wind up blocking the grill leds.

I already have grille lights lol. And yes I have the metal trim. I was just unsure at the time of making this thread if I could fish wires out from the hollow area between the 2 layers of roof. Now that I know I can this outta be easy!

Meant to post last week, but during my salvage yard extravaganza, I noticed that there is a hole under the sun visor mounts. I glanced in a couple 9th gens and saw the holes where the sun visors had been removed. I should have taken pics, but didn't think about it. There is a hole in the center of the mount with the three screw holes surrounding it that the visor screws into. Should be pretty easy to run a wire from there, down the pillar to the passenger's side kick panel where the factory wiring is. FYI

BTW, I think I found my roof lights. $40. I like!

Run the wires in the A pillar, take the cover off. You'll have to drop the head liner too, measure and mark, the do it again and again to make sure. You'll drill one hole per light for the wire, then use the self tapping screws for the rest, here's how the kit had me do it.... Hope this helps!

That's crazy! I don't have a headliner and there's no way I'm drilling that many holes when I don't have to drill any. Everything is given for the lights except for the fish tape to do it with. Not knocking your kit, but that aint happening. i see your main wire is run down the driver's side pillar. The factory clearance light connection is already installed on the passenger's side kick panel, unless your running a separate switch.Good looking truck in your avatar by the way.
