Ok I haven't done a leak down test yet but plan on it soon. I haven't stuck a probe on the fuse/relay box because I'm not sure what I'm doing (yet, maby). I get confused looking at wiring diagrams. I can check voltage if I know what to check along with resistance. Have been surfing on how to use multi meters. I think my relays are good. Hear them click and can feel it when she turns the key on. Both fuel tanks come on and shut off audibly, switch over fine. Did a resistance check on the fuel injectors and got 15.7 and six on them all. I know a leak down test will see if they are closing but does this mean they are working properly? Also I have removed the bed and cant find any coroded connections and have cleaned the plugs with electric cleaner. Removed the computer and looked for any bad diodes burnt up. Everything looked good. Looked at the inertia switch and it wasn't set off. But there was mice **** behind the pannel when I pulled it off but couldn't see anything chewed up.

94 xl 4.9 auto
starts fine, idles fine, can drive it easy and not make it miss. step on it and and sputter.
Parts replaced
fuel filter
coil plugs dist wires
map sensor
checke ign sensor on fire wall
checked tps
temp sensor
air filter

Have you checked fuel pressure w/ key on, & running Also? Error codes?

Yes I forgot to put that. I did check fp and wasn't aware of the leak down test at the time. The fp held steady at 50psi while running but fluxuated 50-55 when I would rev it up. I keep gettining a code 542. What about the injector resistance test? If that checks out does that mean they are ok? Or do I have to do the leakdown test to rule them out? Thanks..

Just because they're firing doesn't mean their not hanging open. That's the only code?

15.7 & 6 ??

624
solenoid circut failure EPC current is high/transmissions

332

EGR did not open/respond during test or if memory code, did not open intermittantly - EVR or PFE

542
Fuel pump open, bad ground or always on - - Power / Fuel Pump Circuits

Could it still run good with this code and an injector be bad?

15.6 it the resistance I got with the meter in the ohm setting. Checking the two terminals on the fuel injectors with the cap unpluged.

My truck gets code 95 all the time. It's the 2 digit equivalent to your 542, fuel pump secondary circuit failure. It doesn't affect the way my truck runs and I never figured out why it comes up. So... I'm no help.

Thats what I'm worried about. I may be chasing a gremlin. Hopfully I can do a leakdown test tomorrow and that will tell a little more. I keep feeling injectors. Also used a propane bottle and didn't find any vacume leaks. It starts and idles good untill I punch the throttle then it will sputter bad and then smooth out. If I just ease it around I can drive it with out missing. It's kinda dangerous trying to cross or get on the four lane cause I have to ease into it.
Also found some refurbished fuel injectors on ebay for 70 bucks. For all six. Sounds like a pretty good deal. I was researching some old post Sean and saw where you recommended that as a option. Thats a huge savings.

Now that I think about it my Blazer is doing the exact same thing. Haven't had time to figure out if it's fuel or spark related, but I'm totally leaning toward fuel.
