ok guys here goes my i have a 1987 f-150 302 auto w/od yesterday i started it up and it missed really bad flooded i have already changed the idle air control valve and i noticed that when i turn the wheels the truck ran good as long as there is pressure on the power steering so i unhooked the power steering press. sensor and it runs ok but still not perfect i also unhooked the map sensor and it ran fine however today i went to start it and it flooded again now i have the egr unhooked too i tried to get the codes my check engine light works but when i hooked the jumper from the pigtail the house shaped connecter and turned the key on the check engine light just came on no flashing any ideas

 

is my computer fried

 

'87 doesn't have a check engine light. Use a voltmeter.

 

my truck has a check engine light on the left side of the steering collumn in the lower part of the dash it comes on every time you turn the key on

 

I have never seen an '87 with a check engine light. There is a spot for one but the factory didn't use it. I wired mine in. But anyways, use a voltmeter.

 

My 87' 302 doesn't. Try this method to see if you get codes this way.
(Can substitute meter for test light)

The last guy I argued about this with discovered his was an '88. Not argueing or calling you a liar though.

That's the "engine" light, not the "check engine" light. That doesn't flash codes. For the third time, use a voltmeter.
