IS there any difference between the 44 and the 40 series?

The 44 is a throatier sound and is also louder then the 40. I have the 44 on my truck and I love it.

just the number of chambers is the difference...the longer they are the more chambers and the quieter it will be. I prefer the 3-chamber longer ones...still throaty but quieter.

2-chambers are nice for stock engines too as they arent that loud unless, you're running a modified compression engine then they tend to get rather loud. I had a 75' van with a built engine and 2.5 duals with 2-chambers and it was LOUD.

Loud enough I had people in front of me complain and I had to pull them off for 3-chamber Big-Block Mufflers....LOL

Ok...sounds like the 40 series will be the one for my 5.8L...hope it sounds good for me!
