I have a single 40 seriez with no cat on my 93 xlt 302 and its rather quiet. After researching a little I decided on the 5.8 I'm putting under the hood now, ill be going with 18" 2.5 Sweet Thunder true duals. Google youtube 5.8 sweet thunder and listen to that badass red ford. He has true duals with dual cats.

That red f150 is what made me want a 5.8 over a 5.0

Sounds great but putting true duals on my 5.8L means: install 2 new cats, 2 new mufflers, and pipe. This will double the cost (if not triple) what i was going to pay for the cat back flowmaster with large chrome tips (450.00).

450 for that! Holy ****! I paid 320 for my exhaust. True duals w/ 2.5" pipe, dynomax bullets, and 4" tips. I have an extended cab too. That's a lot of pipe. Also included cat removal

This might be a bit off topic but how loud is the flowmaster 44 vs say a glasspack

A glass pack. It had more of a popping sound.

But how loud is the 44 compared to a glasspack. I have a glasspack on an otherwise stock setup and I might have to change it pending inspection but I don't want to loose noise
