Anytime you change a sensor, You should clear your KAM (Keep Alive Memory) Disconnect the battery for a minimum of 5 minutes. Do this if your absolutely sure your replaced the ETC sensor, not the Coolant Temperature sender. The sensor looks like the one on this like Link.http://fordfuelinjection.com/?p=29 Wait a minute...... DING-DING-DING-DING- Why look at that! This was my 1000th post! DING-DING_DING-DING-Wonder how many Ding's that's worth-DING-ding-ding........................................ THAT'S IT????????????

like he said clear the KAM and it should work if you replaced the sensor and not the sender.

yup i disconnected the battery to clear the codes. I changed the Coolant sensor that is located on the thermostat housing. Is that the correct one? If it isnt where is the other sensor located.

I forgot to add, 1992 f150 4.9L engine, OBD 1

no broken wires continuity is fine and i have about 4.5 volts between the two. I'm still getting the code. I thought the engine wasnt getting up to temp but i put a piece of card board in front of the rad and it ran really warm and still threw the code.

I'm stumped!!!!

Both wires? You tested for continuity from the sensor plug to the computer?

yeah i have continuity from the plug to the computer on both wires. I even wiggled everything and still had continuity so there are no breaks.

The voltage ref between the 2 sensor wires is 4.6 which i believe is with in spec.
