Are you at normal operating temperature when you perform the test?

I think i got it!!!

Disconnected the battery again and completed the circuit to drain all residual power in the computer.

So far the code 118 was gone, but that was only after a short drive. I guess there was enough residual power left in the computer to store the code even after the battery was disconnected over night.

Now i have a code 172 haha

Gonna take it out for a long drive today and see what happens.

Thanks for the help, I'll keep you posted

sure you arn't running out of norm range temp wise? Try wiggling the wires while checking voltage at the connector. see if the reading fluctuates.

I hooked up my volt meter to two probes on the wires that come out of the ect. The voltage is within spec and the volts and temp all check out according to the specs.

When cold the truck is at 3.8 volts and when fully warmed up at .62 - .65 volts which corresponds to the 190F thermostat.

I have also watched the meter while driving and it never loses connection or grounds out.

I also did the wiggle test and there is no loss in voltage indicating a break in the wires.

I checked the grounds on the truck, but have heard there are grounds in or on the engine computer that can be faulty.
