you do have a point there been lookin at stand alones and there 500 to 1300 bucks. the e4od has itsadvantages. i have a c6 in my garage from my bronco but i like te overdrive. well thats something to ponder on
Race cars also run nitromethane and get 2 mpg. Formula 1 and NASCAR run injected. Many drag cars are injected. And a lot of off road vehicles are injected because they operate better at extreme angles. What's so wrong with the map system it works off the same principle as a carburator, just more accurate.

ok well i didnt ask the questions i asked to get into a pissing contest about whats better efi or carb. i have my opinion and i want to go carb. if you guys like efi, hey more power to you keep you trucks efi. i just wanted some info about doin the swap not about oh this is better or thats better, your dumb for goin carbed. it is what it is. and i guess i just like straying away from everyone else.
Basically without being smart asses out advice is keep the EFI and let us know what's wrong so we can help. It's not that complicated once you get to know the system well. I've worked on raced and driven carbs and EFI for many years and if I can avoid carburator and all their inherent issues I do it. Also ethanol is hard on carbs and carbs are hard on engines. If you interested I can explain why. If your dead set on a carb then its your truck, but from experience and others posts its quite a hassle.
