Default 9th Gen differnces

ive seen and worked on hundreds of 9th gen f150s and have noticed that their are alot of differences from year to year. including electronic, mechanical, sheet metal, and interior.

if you know of any differences in year to year 9th gen f150s share a few.

inside cab light and third brake light vary from almost all years.
95-96 have extra body line.
92-95 OBDI 96 OBDII
outside mirror mounts vary from year to year.
92 93 94 95 96 utilize Speed Density and some 94 95 96 utilize MAF
92 93 dont have studs and mounts for air bag sensors on header panel.

Guess I haven't noticed the body lines. I have a 94 and a 95 and I thought the two were identical. Guess I'll have to check that out in the morning when I get home. Great thread though as I am a salvage yard junkie.

Wow! Never noticed that before. I just got home and compared the 94 to the 95 and did not see any difference. Came in the house and pulled up this thread and had to go back outside and I found the difference. I'll have a little fun challenging my buddies who think they know all about these trucks. I guarantee they've never noticed that extra body line. Keep the differences coming. I've got to get to the salvage yard tomorrow and look at the year model of a specific truck and make sure that the back windows match up. It has a sliding rear window that I want for $16. I think it is an '89. Any idea if it will fit my '95?

I've found a couple of things since getting the '94 a couple months back.
1. Interior dome light on the '94 XL extended cab with a single bulb dome has the existing wiring to upgrade to a dome with map lights. The '95 xl regular cab does not (Mine at least).
2. Both the XL '94 & XL '95 have the cutout in the upper interior windshield trim to run the wiring for a lighted rear view mirror. No wiring, but the channel and cutout is already there for the wiring to run from the mirror to a power source. Wish I knew if there was a place to hook up the wiring for the "Smart Mirrors" such as the built in compasses, temperature, automatic headlight dimmers and such. I've found several Ford rear views that have these features, but no idea how to wire them. I'm running lighted mirrors on both trucks now. $5 each at the salvage yard.

my dads 93 xlt and my 95 xl have the map lights but his 94xl doesnt. his 94 and my 95 have the cutout for power rearview mirror but his 93 doesnt. 92-93 have different door light switch than 94 and 95-96 have different one located near the hinges opposed to the latch.
