thats NOT true....

it will help...although if it is a little lean you may need to add more fuel...

do you have a MAF or a Speed Density system...?

Short of a cam you can do whatever you want to it. If you convert to Mass air you can add a cam too. Don't listen to those ya-hoos at that shop. You can put headers on anything (and make more power).

headers with a good pulse can make you go lean...as long as you dont run at WOT you'll be fine...

Not true. My truck would be in a million pieces, along with many many more including Gen 1 Lightnings.

the lightening are fuel mapped for headers...

good flowing headers WILL lean out the charge...its what they do...

the ECM WILL compensate for most of it via the O2 signal in loop mode...in WOT it is NOT in loop mode and goes directly off the fuel map...NOT the O2...

Adding airflow via headers will lean out some (that is why they make power). To possibly hurt something you would need an HCI setup with all the associated bolt-ons, and no fuel system upgrades. I have even seen this done with no issues. Generally the engine will ping and run badly but rarely "blow up".

If the smallest little upgrade (like headers) would cause CEF then why would Ford Racing Performance Parts offer headers for these trucks?

Check out the link below. It will dispel some of the myths about Ford fuel injection.

eh...

it is YOUR responsibility to either chip or recurve your fuel and timing maps for upgrades...those that are IGNORANT to the issues are the ones that dont....even Ford says in the FINE print you MAY need additional requirement...

I am not blowing smoke here...I have only installed headers on 100s of vehicles and tune them all the time...so it isnt like its my 1st set or I am implying something I read with no experience...as some do...

I base my post on my 20+ years of performance building and tuning and racing....

pinging is a form of detonation....doing it continually will hurt something...
