1994 pulling 5 speed problem
I'm changing the clutch in my 94 F150 2wd. Has a F2TA gearbox and 300 cu in motor. Pulled drive shaft, 6 bolts to bell housing, starter. 2 small bolts for "inspection cover". When I tug at the tranny it separates from the block about 1/4" on the driver's side, but stays put on the starter side. I cannot find anything that is still holding it. I've done dozens of clutch changes in my life but never ran into this.
This has the internal slave cylinder and apparently the previous owner tried to change this out (I'm guessing) because the coupling seems to be messed up (This is my first encounter with this type clutch line). Couldn't get it uncoupled with the tool. I pulled the master cylinder so I wouldn't have to waste the line by cutting it.
Any ideas about what may be holding it on the starter side?
Thanks

Yep, Thar she blows!
I'm a kinda little guy and getting too old for too much of this and don't have a tranny jack, just a floor jack. A friend even older than me was passing through just after I posted this ?. I asked him bout this and all he said was to use a rope as insurance to protect my teeth and all. Well, I thought bout that a bit and did one up on that, since I'm not all that good with ropes & knots & that stuff. Got my come-a-long and ran the cable from one frame through one door down the big hole round the tranny up the other side out the other door to a rope tied to the other frame. This worked real good for this old codger to let the brute down to the floor.
Wonder how I'll get it back up again???

I got delayed on this. NAPA sold me the wrong clutch & I'm an hour out of town. Got it almost back together now. I have the tranny about 3/4 inch from mating with the block. I'm pretty sure I have the pilot shaft splined into the clutch plate, although I have been wrong at times. It's being stubborn. In my cast iron days I'd suck it in with bolts, but I read some threads about that cracking blocks and such.
Any advice?
