Got ya. Ok let me clear that up quick. I did replace both already just at different times. Last fall it was the 1-2 fork, now i replaced the 3-4. When replacing the 3-4 i think i may have lost those springs that were in the shift rail that holds the fork. After i replaced the the 3-4 fork it work for a day or so. On the first drive of the day it would grind going into third just once after it had been sitting. Then it stopped working again, as in i have no gears besides first and second. this is where i am stuck. I dont know if those springs could cause a problem or what. thats why i was thinking of trying to find a new top plate but i am not having anyluck. Hopefully that clears it up a little more.

Yea they keep the fork from wandering. So it wiggles out of place and the shifter won't engage it anymore. That's what I think anyways.

This the shift rail bend? Or damaged that you can see? Is that the rail that is missing the
Springs and *alls? If it is missing the springs and *alls its probably damage the ends of
The shift rail !

Slide the shift rail half way in then slide the shift fork in on the shift rail! Then slide the shift rail completely In! Then slide the shift fork over the hole and put the role pin back into the hole so the shift fork doesn't move around!
