Nice, that kit looks very good. I really like the little dot smd leds, I have one on my front cupholders, and 2nd oj the lower rear plrtion of the console for rear footwell lighting.
I drilled a small hole in both spots just round enough to allow the full smd to shine through. Then secured the smd led with hot glue, and the wires with standard scotch tape!
I like the output, but I do wish I had opted for a RGB kit like the one you selected, for more color choices!
Let me know how you like it.... I just wish it had a physical switch vs. a remote...
Here you go. ill get some better shots up tonight. I like the kit . it came with everything needed for the instal including ties to ties up wires and fuse extenders. I have them hooked up to the fuse box in delayed accessory so when i turn off key the lights stay on till i open the door. what i could not figure out is how to hook them up to the door assist lights in my truck (This feature would allow the LED strips to light up white upon opening the door, but once the doors are closed and engine on, the LED strips switch back to the last color selected ). there is a seperate wire for this application. ill keep looking further into this-
the hardest part was figuring out where to install them.
do you think i can tap into the wire on the opt7 lights?? if not ill need a switch if i tap into the 12v lighter .... how do you like yours?? id use those dot lights that you got.

You should be able to buy a add a pac for your Opt7, and add it in that way. Shouldnt require a switch! Id personally just cut the strip your gonna use for the cupholder down to 3 leds, where the cut line is on the strip.
Then drill a small hole ( just big enpugh to expose the small light part of the led), in the center of the cupholder plastic(part removes by pulling up). Then simply use hot glue, or your choice of adhesive to attach the led strip, with just 1 led placed behind the drilled hole(trust me, this will provide Plenty of light for the cupholder area). Then just cover the other 2 leds with electrical tape, to stop light bleed through!
I did the same as explained above, except I have the single dot smd led in the front cupholder of my console...
Id really like to install a color changing kit thats dimmable like yours, but I have to have one that works on a Switch. In my personal opinion, I wouldnt like it being controlled by a remote controll. But, thats my OCD....
I like Fords add on ambient lighting kit for 209.00, but its not Dimmable.

On another note, you may try ordering a single dot smd led in RGB color from superbrightleds.com, like mine. Then tap into your Opt7's wiring, to have controll of it through the included remote controll. This is just a Thought, Im not sure if its possible. But itd only cost around 7 bucks shipped, and be simple to wire in vs. Spend 40 or more dollars for a add on kit!

There are wires in the door sills you can tap for the Courtesy footwell lighting. This will light your strips up when when doors open! I just cant remember what color the wires were I tapped, when ai added my footwell lighting for this!
This is just a suggestion, but if you remove the p.s. fabric piece under the glove box. Its held in place by 2 plastic push pins. You can trim a small hole (sixe is your choice), then mount your led strips behind it. That way theyll be out of sight, whether theyre off or on!
That is what I did . Then on the d.s., I used a scrap piece of thin steel flashing and mounted it to a bolt behind the knee bolster. Then mounted my leds to that, so it lights the area, and is not visible when in use.
Heres a pic pf the p.s., just to give you a idea. I cut about a 4x3" hole in the padded carpet piece, to hide the courtesy footwell leds and ambient lighting leds....
This lights up the entire footwell perfectly, and cant be seen... Unless, you lay your head on the floor mat!
