I made another update to my Opt7 lights - this is a take off from a previous poster on the thread/site - I wanted the small area in front of the shifter of the flow through console area lit up as well. I had only used 2 of the 4 small light strips from the Opt7 expansion kit.

I pulled the plastic dash part that has the Sync logo on it and drilled two small holes right on the little flat part under the logo - the holes line up with 2 of the 6 leds on the strip. Used some epoxy glue to attach the strip of lights to the inside of the trim piece - used one of the splitters and extension cables and wired back to the power supply. Perfect amount of light and desired effect.

You can see the LED's through the holes:

There were a few little things along the way I had not found specific details on in these threads. I'll put my install details here for others - hoping it might help.

To start - I used the Opt7 Aura kit and the 4 light add on kit - bought them off of Amazon. My install is in a 2014 Screw.

- Power - tapped into fuse number 30 in the passenger footwell. This is the fuse for the front parking lights. Figured that would best meet when I wanted the lights on. I used the add a fuse that came in the kit. Don't be fooled there are two that look like they may work, one is too thick in the middle, use the other one - it will fit very nicely.

- Door open switch - the Opt7 can turn the lights to white when you open the door if you connect the secondary wire. I tapped into the same wire others mention here - near the fuse box there is a green connector - I used a scotchlok on the wire in pin 4. The color varies by year model - greyish purple on the 2014.

- Connected both grounds to the screw on the frame down near the same fuse box.

- Ran both wires under the top edge of the carpet on the passenger side over to the area in front of the center console. That is where I placed the control module as well. It has lots of room in it and is open to both sides of the interior for easy wire routing.

- Front floor well lights - I placed large strips of LED's from the main kit under the front edge of the seat on a metal strip that is easy to find, shining toward the front. I then placed one of the small strips from the Add on kit under the bottom lip of the dash right on top of the OBDII connector on the driver side and just under the lip of glove box on the passenger side. Look closely and you'll find both of these areas where you can make the lights shine down and into the truck - you can't see the LED's when sitting in the truck.

- For the back floor board I mounted the light strips on the back of the front seats as others have. I couldn't find a good place under the seat - so I mounted them to the plastic strip on the back of the seat - it shines down but lights most of the floor well and the flap they are under keeps the lights from shining up.

Very pleased. Love the look. Pics attached here of some of the install and then pics of the lights on bright and on dim. I have black carpet, so I have a white towel laying in half of the back floor board so you can see the difference of how much brighter they would be with a lighter color carpet. Helps see the difference.

What color light is that? White, uv, or black light?

It is the Opt7 Aura kit others have talked about here as well. Look in post 36 of this thread - there is a picture of the remote. I think it is the second button across the bottom that I've selected. You can pick 12 or so colors and then about 10 different brightnesses of each color with this system.

Purchased from Amazon. The LED strips are very nice - have a very heavy silicone or some type of covering on them.

Okay, so I am struggling real hard here trying to get the door trigger to work. The two wires from the LED side I ran next to the power wires. Negative I hooked to the same bolt as the negative for power and the positive I am testing with the same fuse tap as my power positive and still nothing happens... this should at least light up white if its getting power right? I'm trying to make sure this thing works before I splice my wires in the green connector. Thoughts anybody?

Just quadruple checked again. I found the right wire and the right negative bolt for sure. I tested it with the normal power lines and it lights up, tried with the door lines and they don't work. Safe to assume the box isn't working like it should?
