Which is which? because i want pure white and not blue, but don't want to waste money on HIDs if they turn out looking like my silverstars that are yellowish
According to Retro-Solutions.com, 4000K is yellowish white, 5000K is warm white and 6000K is cool white. In my humble opinion and from other sites I have visited, 3900K is about the brightest light. The 5000K should be the whitest.

So I am awaiting the arrival of my '13 OEM hid headlights and adapting harness from tux. I know the factory hids are rated at 4300k and I am looking to add hid's to the fog lights to match them. My question to those of you who actually own the OEM hid's is what temp bulb do you think will match best? I am looking to buy from the retrofit source site and they sell their morimoto kits in either 4300k, 5000k or 6000k. The only reason I can't decide is because I know that with projectors the light seems to look more bluish at different angles so I'm thinking the 4300k kit might be too yellowish and im better off going with the 5k kit. Hopefully someone can help me out.

excuse me if this has been answered but dont have time to sift through the many pages in this thread. what do us canadian guys do that have to have DRL's (daytime running lights) by law. iv got a ddm kit on the way to me and never even thought about it until i read a post in this thread. the drl's only run at 80% i think and hid's need 100% power all the time or else risk damaging them. is there a way around this?? thanks!!

Default HID kits

I have a 2010 F150 XLT. Worst factory headlamps made. I have found that the german kits seem to last the longest, but none lasts a year. Either the high beam burns out, or the ballast goes.

Would like to find a conversion that would separate the dual beam bulb to a high and low beam bulb.

fog lamp kits suffer same issues.

The 80% deal should be isolated by the wiring/relay harness that comes with your kit. The new harness will use one headlamp plug, and sense the voltage regardless of 80 or 100% and trigger the new power relay, delivering full power to the HID bulbs.

I ordered some hids for my 2010 fx2 a couple days ago from DDM. Just waiting for them to arrive. I ordered 6k for my low/high and same for the fogs. I've had DDM HIDS in my yukon for almost two years and still not one problem. I will be posting up pics once I install them on my FX2.

I already saw someone who had planned to put HIDs on the fogs, but he had a lower temp. I have 8000k 55W in the headlights. Anyone think that 35W 6000k would work fine? Because i honestly dont want to melt the fog lights i bought less than a year ago to melt...

I'm really unsure how some say they are having issues with melting fogs from using HID's. HID's burn cooler than the stock halogen bulbs so I don't see It causing any issues. But go with the 35w for the fogs. Really unnecessary to run 55w down there and honestly those might melt the housings but the 35w will be fine

well i got it all installed and everything seems fine. i have not got my relay harness yet but my drl's seem to be running at 100% and both lights turn on all the time. i think the harness ddm supplys with the kit might be the same as a relay harness? im not sure but everything runs great. i went 35w 5000k and iv never seen the snow look so vibrant lol love them!

on a side note i did install the error eliminators not sure if that had any effect on my drl's.

i also ordered the mounting brackets and the hid harness because i wasnt sure if i needed them...wasted my money there.
