Default CrankCase build

So I figured it would be time to start up a thread showing what I’ve done, and will be doing to the truck during my ownership.
This is my 8th ford truck, have owned everything from a prerunnered 2003 ranger, a 2005 F350 with 8.5” lift and 40” tires, to a 2012 Raptor (probably my favorite truck)
I sold my raptor this year due to some substantial rust issues with the cab, I was the 3rd owner of the truck and it spent most of its life in Canada and Kansas before I bought it in NC

Stats on my 2018
3.5 ecoboost
3.55 gears, electric locker, extended range fuel tank, XLT sport package
LeadFoot grey in color, black cloth interior, 302A package. Has NAV, heated seats, and some decent options for the price.
Dealer had already installed a leveling kit (procomp I believe) along with some 33” Nitto Ridge grapplers.

I took it home and immediately began the mods LOL

Things I have done so far as of 11/2/18
Tinted Windows to 10% all the way around with 85% on the windsheild
Hard wired a radar detector and used a blendmount to the mirror
added VLED bulbs to the low beams, and reaimed the lights, don’t get anyone flashing me
soft bed cover (amazon special) it works great doesn’t leak, even in heavy downpours
black tailgate “F150” inserts
Monster Energy wheels 20x9, +8 offset, reused the Nitto tires the truck came with
Added the Raptor upfitter switches
Evil Manufacturing 3rd brake light. Has a single amber Baja Designs light in the center and 2 Baja Designs white on the outsides. Also has white LED lights for the cargo lights, and red LED lights for marker and brake.
Also removed the lower air dam, and added 2 sets of rigid lights to the factory fog lights. Outer ones are amber, and inner ones are white spots.
Also did the SE Headlights
Future plans include
leather seating
raptor sterring wheel wheel with paddle shifters
full suspension upgrade, likely Icon shocks with new control arms up front, Icon shocks and Deaver springs in the rear
new grill (RTR is my first choice, but the new Saleen grill is nice too)
custom projector headlights (working with a company now about making a set available for everyone)
custom LED tail lights

There will definitely be some performance upgrades as well, just not sure on what and how extreme I want to go. The truck needs to be driveable on a daily basis as well as long road trips.

Attahced are some pictures. I will keep this first posted updated as best I can as the progress continues.

Following for sure. Great mods so far. Love that third brake light. Never seen that one before. How did you mount those Rigid fogs?

Thnaks!
The third brake light is from evil manufacturing, you can choose any combination of lights that you want. Wasn’t cheap, but so worth it.
I mounted the fog lights right to the factory plastic housing. I removed the stock fog lights, and just drilled the plastic to put the mounts on. It’s pretty sturdy.
I actually have a rigid light mount for the 15-17 trucks, and it actually looks like it will fit. The cover may not work, but that doesn’t bother me. When I have a little time I will look into it further.

I can’t zoom in close enough to tell. Is that soft tri-cold from Amazon a “Tyger”? If so, I have had the same cover on mine for a while and am still very happy with it. My rig gets parked outside in all conditions and no problems. It also gets folded up and unfolded at least 5 time a week and shows no wear.

It is a Tyger actually. I’ve been very happy with it, and glad to hear yours is holding up well, especially for the price.

When I ordered it, I was actually expecting for a real POS to show up. I was pretty surprised with the quality. Even send you a storage bag. Your truck is looking awesome. I'll be following this build closely.

I need those up-fitter switches, can you elaborate on how you installed them?

really wasn’t too bad, the overhead console snaps right in place of the one you currently have. The relay/fuse box and all the wiring is available from ford, and other than a couple electrical hook ups, it’s all very easy to do.
I even wired mine up so that all of the switches are hot all the time, unlike the way it comes from the factory where the ignition has to be on (you can swap a fuse and make switches 5&6 hot all the time, but not the rest of them)

the console comes in the usual usual interior colors, with and without the upgraded security system, and with or without the moonroof switch. Just have to figure out which one to get for your particular truck.
The wire harness for the switches runs from the console, across the headliner then down the passenger A pillar and through the firewall to the relay box. The box has a large wire that goes to the battery, and 2 other wires that need power (either switched or constant, your choice) then there are 6 wires left off the box to hook up to whatever accessories you want.

It’s a super clean way of having 6 switches for lighting or whatever.

I dont have any pics pics during the install, and it’s so clean under the hood it looks factory....basically because it is, all ford parts so no one can really tell it’s added on. I did have to fab a bracket to hold the relay box to the inside fender but that was easy.

That’s awesome. If you ever get a chance to post the parts needed that would be great. Keep up the good work, looking forward to watching the build.

Oh, forgot about these two mods.
Roush intake and borla exhaust.
The exhaust is just a single in and single out muffler, with dual black tips. It sounds really nice, has a good sound when accelerating and down shifting, but absolutely no drone on the highway.
