Ecoboost engine shenanigans!
First off, I love my truck and I love the Ecoboost motor. This isn't a rant or anything like that...just wanted to add my story to the Ecoboost stutter/humidity/condensation/mileage-issue/overall-oddness/OMG-WTF conversations.
I hit about 10k on my '12 FX4 and everything was fine, perfect even. I pull boats, I drive fast on highway, I give her hell on dirt roads, and I idle in oil fields. I do not baby the truck, however, I do follow proper maintenance. Gas mileage has honestly been right at or a little under advertised mpg, notwithstanding the occasions where I just flog the hell out of it.
About a week ago I was banging 80 on the highway and it started to drizzle, a rarity in my parts. It might have been the third time my truck had seen rain, it was for sure the first time it had seen rain at highway speeds...I know because I remember thinking that.
I exited the highway for a minute to hit up a store. Truck was off for a few minutes. I got back to the highway and began accelerating as normal to merge. It is at that point I experienced the *******/missing/lack-of-go, whatever, that many have reported experiencing on the highway, in the rain. It's exactly as the others have reported. Could barely hit 50 and the truck acted like it was missing 3 of it's 6 cylinders. I slowed down, said wtf, then punched it...she took off and resumed normal operation.
It wasn't until a few days later (dry days, no rain) that I noticed the other issue folks talk about on the forum, poor mileage. I went from my normal, happy, 20/17 mpg, to about 14/12 mpg. Hmmm. I didn't think too much of it, and wrote it off to **** Colorado gas. (I had almost ran out of fuel and had to fill her up with 85, something I never, never do.) I figured, bad gas, this too shall pass. No engine lights or anything else.
A couple days later, after killing 3/4 of that tank of crap gas, my check engine light pops on. Well hell. At this point I assume it went into a limp mode of sorts, it felt rather like a non-boosted v6 and for whatever reason the remote start function ceased and told me to go pound sand (honked like I had locked it instead of starting), lol.
I take her to the dealer and said fix it. Turns out they replaced both of my cats, and applied some sort of update I was overdue for. They also told me I needed some sort of thing put on the inter-cooler, but it was on back order.
So that is my story. As of today she is back to her normal, nimble gas sipping self. I'm not sure what to make of the entire ordeal, but I figured I'd share the experience with y'all for the sake of documentation. Luckily for me, I have a warranty, and given my current job and position in life I'll be trading in before that warranty is out...so I really don't care what happens to it. It's good to be boss.
I'm not sure what to conclude from all of this. I'll leave that up to you all, but if you have any questions feel free to post up and I'll do my best to respond. I don't keep detailed logs of anything regarding the truck really. I spend more time playing and obsessing over my boat. I will tell you, it is bone stock, normally gets 91 or 93 gas, and is daily driven.

I realize this doesn't offer much help but in a GMC, the remote start is disabled once a CEL lights up. I'm sure Ford is the same. In other words, the remote start not working is a result of the CEL, not another issue in addition to the misfires.
It was just one of those "kick in the nuts" moments, ya know? My engine light pops on, I go to work. Then I lean out the door at lunch on a 102 degree day to get the AC kickin' and my trucks like "whatever dude" lol.
Same happened to me. Have to get home first, then in the shop to get cat replaced, intercooler update, and flash ECU. Oh, and unlike others, my mileage is not going down. Go figure. Still, I love my truck.
This has happened in my truck about two dozen times now. Only 7,700 miles; drive mostly pre dawn hours in exceptionally high dew point environment. My dealer has been 100% useless in fixing the problem and so far has done absolutely nothing.
The more miles put on my truck the worse it gets.

I don't know, lol. I'm going to flog the hell out of mine on the way to the lake this weekend and see how it holds up.
I love the darn thing, but downtime upsets me, I will trade it for a 5.0 or a 'Stroke if it keeps giving me hell.

6.2L will be available in the 2013 FX4.
