but for basic setup i'd say don't raise the rev limiter more than a couple hundred rpm if any at all, you don't gain any power up there and its just hard on the engine. Raise the trans shift pressure a ways tho, some people go max but i'd go 50-75% increase. Shift point same as rev limiter, try not to mess with them much.
From someone who has not used hypertech you sure seem to know a lot about them. If you don't know what you're talking about you should not respond. I use on my 2012 F150 5.0L 4x4 and have seen a noticeable increase in performance and MPG.

I have an '09, but the same engine and mods. I would love an answer, as well.

Settings for your 2009 F150 4.6 2V
If you are running premium fuel use the premium tune. That gains 14 HP 25 TQ to the wheels. You can set the speed limiter down between 25 & 75 mph to govern it. You can set above 100 mph for speed rated tires. Do 25% on the shift firmness for the 1-2 & 2-3 shifts. Set the rev limiter to +500 rpm's & go +300 rpm's on the shift points. Leave the cooling fans stock for the winter. On the tire size you can get it to the closest 1/4".
Thanks, Gary @ Hypertech.

Gary sent me the same settings in a PM. I don't know if these are focused for performance or MPG. I asked him but am still waiting to hear back.

My interest is the MPG's. But, I entered these settings...and wow, I definitely feel a difference when I drive the truck now. It feels great. Perhaps we can do a little better, I don't know, but a significant improvement so far.

The speed limiter can be set down to govern between 25 & 80mph or up above 100 based on speed ratings of your tires. If you are running your stock thermostat you can set your cooling fan for the 195 setting. If you change your tire size or your gear ratio you can program in the new setting to correct your speedometer. Let me know if you have questions.
Thanks, Gary @ Hypertech
I used these settings for my 2013 5.0. I guess the programming has changed since this post as you can now select different shift firmness between each gear. I set the 1-2, 2-3, and 3-4 shift firmness to 50% and left 4-5 at stock. I have found the 1-2 shift VERY harsh when there is no torque. Under acceleration it is not bad but it does not feel right if you are slowly rolling . . . it makes the truck jump. Seems like the program is incorrect because if I set the 1-2 back to stock it corrects this.

I am also wondering about the cooling fan setting. I changed mine to 195 like suggested but I am unsure what exactly this does and it's benefit (if any).

Thanks,

Chris

I had the same issue with shift firmness from 1-2nd at low speeds. I just put it back to stock. Other settings seem OK, and the speedo adjustment is nice.

I just bought a Max energy and did my first tune yesterday. I too wasn't sure what setting to use, so I just did the regular gas tune and shift firmness at 25%. I noticed the same harshness in 1-2 on a slow start.
I'd like to know what fuses you guys had pulled (or not) before doing a tune? I have a 2013, so I have the SYNC and Sirius. I pulled the SYNC fuse #2 and the radio #29 and didn't have a problem, but did I need to?
