I hear it more so on the passenger side of the vehicle, however I can definatly hear it all around! The noise never goes away...idle and acceleration! Do cam phasers tick upon acceleration too?

Well the f150 fuel injectors are very ticky/ noisy to begin with, if u havent replaced your pvc valve i would try that. Ford recommends replacing it at 30k even though i didn't replace mine till 97K. After that im not the guy to talk to cause im not there sitting listing to the truck

She's got a 3 Valve, the PCV Valve isn't serviceable. With VCT, she's got an entire extra system in the motor to make even more noise.

I do appologize for the late response....however the ticking is heared at all time while the vehicle is running from turn on to off! It is more apparent on the passenger side, however is very loud all along! If it is the lifters is it possible to determine which one and only replace the one?

It is apparently hard to get a guarantee of what is wrong with it because each shop and dealer wants me to authorize teardown! For those who have replaced lifters and or cam phasers....is this something easily accessable?

Book is around 7 hours to remove and replace both cams, the phasers should be close to that.

Now in reguards to this darn ticking noise...is it possible it could be the exhaust manifold gasket? The noise from the exhaust tail pipe is insink with the ticking from the front and I do see that the manifold sits below the motor! We did a test on the phasers and the tick didnt go away (i was told probably safe to scratch that off as a possibility) ANY words of advice???

Definitly not cam phasers because ticking goes away at 1200 rpms with bad phasers.
