Default Wreck

Today i was rear ended by a woman going about 50. I was at a dead stop at a stop sign and she pushed my truck forward maybe 6-7 inches. Do i need to get my brakes looked at or anything i need to look for. So far only causality is my ranch hand its hanging on barely. She hit it so low it pushed it down and ripped the bolts through the frame. Luckily i wasn't hurt but my mother was. Any tips on what to get looked at for damage is greatly appreciated. Another person texting and driving wish kids would think how dangerous that is. Thanks for help. Ill get some pics posted of the damage soon.

Have the frame checked by a body shop. I was rearend the same way once and thought just a bumper would fix it. Ended up bending the frame horns. Suprised she didnt push you even further if she was going 50.

Look for damage to your transmission, engine mounts, transfer case, etc. Going 50 she may have pushed your axle forcing the drive shaft into the drive train components thus causing a series of problems for you. I don't feel sorry for her having to pay pay pay for her carelessness and you certainly should not be damaged because of her. Maybe next time she will be more careful.

At first I didn't realize your "ranch hand" was a lift / tailgate - thought it was a guy who helped you out around the property. Thought you were pretty cold-hearted saying "So far only causality is my ranch hand its hanging on barely".
Anyway, yeah, I'd have a body shop write up an inspection of the truck's frame and look over the drive train, too.
Hope your mother is okay, and good luck with the truck.

Sorry for the very delayed response. This has been a HUGE headache. The girl that hit me ended up not having insurance, no drivers license, not her car. The car owner *her grandmother* didnt have insurance either. I got it repaired out of my pocket. Luckily no frame damage the bumper was fixable. Had to reweld the mounting brackets, replace my back up camera, back up lights. In the end it cost me about $1300. My mother was actually just healing up from back surgery and is on leave from work now. Shes not doing so well at all in alot of pain. We are now having to get our attorney to sue the girl for medical expenses and truck repairs. Its going to be a long journey with this one. Her car got impounded for no insurance actually.

Of course the girl who hit you didnt have insurance or a drivers license. This country is loosing its acountability in society. Sorry to hear man, I would sue the hell out of her. It's one thing to just damage a truck, but to re-injure someone is unacceptable. She better have gotten a ticket for texting and driving. Im sorry to hear man, good luck. Nice looking truck

Uninsured or under insured motorists is not required of your auto policy in your state? Its mandatory in Florida to prevent this exact scenario. Your insurance Co should be footing that bill.
