Default Gear change

I've got the 4.2L 2wd went to a 265/75/16 will be getting spindle to level front and then go to a 285/75/16 I have a 3:55 gear and wondered would It be wise if I went to a 4:10 gear with the bit bigger tire?? Also would there I notice anything torque wise??? I know it wouldn't make it faster lol.

Also at some point I would like to put a locker in it too. Any suggestions???

I would do up a locker when you regear, ya already have the thing apart afterall

For an autolocker I'd prolly go with a Detroit. For a on demand I'd go with OXlocker
Detroits are kinda clickey on corners, but install really easily

A 4.10 gear with any tire less than 33 inches tall and you will see a drop in mpg and higher rpms but it will get up and go a good bit faster, lower top end though.

I've had them past (Detroits), they weren't really clicky , per say. Mine made little tire chirps, - err! err! err! err! around corners.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the info. It is my plan to do the locker and gear at same time. Would the 4.10 be too much since I'm only goin with a 285/75/16 with a spindle lift in front. Any recommendations on gear size. I've got 3.55 right now.

I've had 285 70 17 on mine with a 3 inch fabtech lift for about a year with no issues and I have a 3:55 rear.

Most recent photo. Put tuff bar side steps on. They blend in nicely.

Franchi is a user on here but if you want custom tunes look into MPT (more power tuning). I think they are a sponsor here too.
