Default wat does this do?

ive attached two pics...1st one is of some gadget that i found that seems to have a wire that comes out of it but wasn't connected at the other end and the 2nd pic is the area in which the gadget was wedged in....can someone please let me know what the gadget is and what that wire could possibly be?

Does your truck have radio controls on the steering wheel it kinda looks like my box for the controls

it only has the cruise control settings on the steering wheel....i looked at some of the wires that are connected to that piece and noticed that its got two big fuses on it....one light blue and the other orange.

this is under the dashboard. it was a tad bit behind the fusebox

im not sure what kinda transfer case i have....but just so i'll know...what exactly are u trying to get at with that question? just fyi....my 4x4 isn't engaging and my blinkers nor my emergency lights are working.

Do you manually have to pull a lever in the cab to engage 4wd or do you just turn a ****? Could be that little control box.

It just hit me something else it could be. If you have DRL's or auto lights it could be that control module. I'm taking a stab here after looking at a wiring diagram in my repair manual.

The box looks to be an aftermarket alarm system. I didn't see any Ford numbers on the module, but the plug looks definitely like an alarm. IF you have any numbers, post them and we can give you a correct description if it is a Ford part, which I don't think it is. Possibly also could of been an auto start. It is hooked into the switch wiring. Good luck.
