Default tire selection help please.

truck is a 2001 super crew 4.6L all stock. use will be about 1/2-3/4 pavement and 1/4-1/2 muddy, rocky, mountain roads and trails. nothing too extreme, not into taking my vehicles through or over anything that im not positive it is capable of. creek crossings i make are no more than 3 truck lengths wide and 2ft or so deep if i can help it.

i dont want to have to lift or trim anything to make the tires fit but would like to fill up the wheel wells a little since i think the truck looks pretty stupid with the stock p255's on it.

im interested in the watchdog and warden tires from treadwright and am unsure which to go with. if the watchdogs arent going to wear out much faster than the wardens or be a problem on pavement i'd prefer them since they look better to me but i have a feeling they will wear alot faster than the wardens and handle like crap on wet roads.

as for size i cant decide between
265/75/r16
285/75/r16

would love to hear the pros and cons of the 2 sizes relating to daily use, fitment, mileage, and whatnot

I would go with the 285/75 size. I think fits the wheel well perfect.

perfect example same color truck and everything lol. im thinking this would also lift the truck about 2" since the tire is 5" larger than stock is this correct? if so is it noticeable? doesnt even rub with the wheels turned the whole way?

@ Brent20, how many miles have you put on those firestone m/t's? i just picked up a set yesterday 285/70/17, just curious as to how long these will last.

@ The fng i would definitely invest in getting a leveling kit and go with the 285's

I have about 3k on them so far. Still look brand new. Hoping I get atleast 30k out of them. Should be able to from all the reviews I read. People were getting 40k out of them. Awesome tire tho. Can't believe how quiet and smooth the ride is.
