Tips for replacing seats?
I have an 2001 Ford F-150 and as anyone can guess time is taking its toll on it's seats (but hey the truck still runs like a boss) anyways
Its a leather bench seat, and the driver side portion, the threading has been completely destroyed all that's really there is cushion (not to the extreme where your sitting in it). Now I read that you can get seat covers to hide it and whatever else they might do
but with me I don't like doing things half way (ill save this for a last resort)
I mean if i were to ever go trade it in, i would at least like everything to be in good condition.
However I was wondering is it possible to like change the seats out to bucket seats(if i were to trade it in, would bucket seats drop the value or something? even if i were to get only lets say $2k I rather that than $1900)
eh replacing seats to which kind is irrelevant at the the time, ide be happy to go with more bench seats just to make it look good.
I'm not asking how to change one out, I just want advice for it, like what to look for etc and possibly and sites that may sell vehicle seats.

Try your local junkyard and ebay. Getting buckets shouldnt decrease or increase the value of the truck, but any seats that are in better condition will help. You can swap out the bench for two buckets and the center console, its been done before. Just need to find seats for whatever your interior color is.
Dont know where your from but I have some bucket seats and console I'm looking to get rid of. They are fabric and gray in color with the fold down armrest. All are in great shape just dont have the floor mounts with them.

Don't rule out a like year Expedition for the buckets and center console. There are a number of folks here in previous posts that swapped out their benches for Expedition seats, and the power driver's one mated up perfectly with the existing wiring harness. Check Craigslist for partouts, since in our series (97-03), many have bad drivetrains, or met a deer on a back road - and the interiors were mint. I saw a set locally (Atlanta), full leather, no rips or tears, for $350. Wrong color for me - but made me aware of what was out there. I have a Lariat, and one shop wanted $400 just for new leather skins - without installation. So, check Craigslist closest to where you live, or even in the next largest city.
