Default Throttle cable help?

Hey everyone, I have a 97 4.6L that needs a new throttle cable. It is a discontinued part so I am having trouble finding one. Does anyone know where I can get a new one? Also, I have seen new 5.4L cables online. Would these work on a 4.6L? Thanks.

Try parts geek, or rock auto, even try amazon. Aftermarket suppliers should have it.

Thanks, but I tried Rock Auto, Parts Geek, and Amazon but they don't have the 4.6L throttle cable. Parts Geek had the 5.4L cable but that was it. Any more suggestions? It doesn't make any sense why Ford would discontinue the part that basically runs the truck.

My current cable is stretched about 2 inches, and I'm not a fan of the zip tie mod. A new replacement cable would be better, since I have lost a lot of power.

Are you sure 4.6 cable isnt the same as 5.4 cable? Im pretty sure they are the same but dont quote me on that, i bought my cable from dealer for 80$ CAD installed it myself, took me roughly 45min because it was a major pita to get it out of the firewall, you need to press the clip and then push it outwards when youre inside the cab, very little room. Goodluck.

EDIT: Forget what i said, if it's discountinued part then im not too sure (unless it's same as 5.4)

Yeah I can find endless amounts of 5.4 cables, but I'm unsure if they work on the 4.6.

Try a junkyard. You should be able to find one not as streched.

I might consider it. Its just one of those things things that I would prefer a new one. That way I dont have to mess with it anymore. Most likely the majority of junkyard cables are fairly stretched.

Yeah, I'm afraid my cable is stretched passed the point of the zip tie mod though. Eventually it will most likely break if I don't replace it soon.
