Has anyone here ever used thread lock such as Lock Tite? If so, is hard to remove the bolt when you need to?

Depends on which one you use. General rule of thumb is blue = hand tool remove, red = power tool remove.

We definitely need the ability to Thread Lock on this forum, I totally agree!

What? He wants to lock the threads of a bolt, not lock the threads of this forum?

Oh...

Dont use red locktite when you thread a bolt in aluminum! You will hate yourself later!

Many bolts spec a thread locker. There are many different kinds, not just red and blue (green and purple).

Depending on what your doing will determine which one you use. The chart above is a good guide for sure if there is no listed spec.

As said above, blue is more of a "keep it from coming out on it's own, but you can take it out relatively easily". Red is more of a permanent solution, something you don't ever want to undo, and it usually takes heat and a lot of torque to get out, even then can cause damage when removing.

Blue for normal fasteners that get undone. Red for when you don't want that bitch to ever come out, and it's ok if it doesn't.

- but I have started to see the gel kinda instead of normal liquid. Picked up some, not sure on how I feel about it yet

Correct, and there's many kinds of Blue. From worst to best, -Permatex, store brand, -the most useless. Although I've heard it works well for very fine plastic threads. But it's more-less distilled water w/food coloring...could use a taste of starch IMO.
ASFAIK, Ford still sends bolts for pre-coat. But they no longer use just one manufacturer. Best of the best, - Loctite Dri-loc, Vibra seal (that orange stuff you most likley see most often. TECTORIUS is very good stuff, 3M Fastener Adhesives is another. The newest and supposedly THE best is a 3M/Bradley product = 2353 BLUE. Once applied correctly, the bolt can be used at any time. First use induces the chem reaction for total seal and protection. Best thing about it, the bolt can be used over and over again in high vibe applications without loosing a wide margin of torque values. Reducing tq value, yea it doesn't flinch.

That would be this stuff here, -

Red = High heat. It can take the heat. And it takes even more heat to remove it lol.

I was just going to say that the 3M was the best stuff I've used, followed by Loctite - which is a Henkel company based out of Dusseldorf, Germany. I use Henkel products and 3M products daily, and they both make really really good products....
