Holy crap, yeah, def a big sert...or oversized. Wonder if they left it on the spark plug in it to chuck it up and machine it lol.

It use to be only Time Sert had over sized (Big Sert). Bet that's not the case anymore.

Dang, what a hassle. Safellite impressed me. Nice guy and I got the OEM glass no problem. Guy said he does 8 windshields a day...keeps busy.

Didn't think about tipping the guy before he got there, only had 30 bucks on me. Oh well lol.

Going to wait until winter to get the hood fixed. Or I can't stand it, whatever comes first. It looks like it was caught in a hail storm or attacked by a ball peen hammer at present. Can't notice unless you're close.

At least you're past it CO and it turned out good.

The problem with the vast majority of windshield installers is they've "been doing this for 20 years, I know best", but most have never touched a windshield with a rubber seal, so they only think they know what they're doing, and they're wrong.

He used a piano cord type cutter to cut the old out. Cleaned the perimeter here and there, didn't really have to scrape much, that cutting cable cut it close and cleanly. Wiped it down w/solution/cleaner. Used one tube of some kind of synthetic polymer. That's what it said on the tube. It was now water tight.

Finished it off with the trim which isn't water tight....isn't suppose to be apparently. It was lifting in spots at first. I questioned it. He informed me it was fine and would lay down once the sun hit it. He was right.

But no rubber seal here, just the caulking. I expect some are different.

Morning Gents, so I really need your input/experience on this. one of my rear drums is gouged pretty good, literally have a hump in the middle of the shoe from it. The other drum is fine, no visible issues. I was planning on replacing both, but one that i got was incorrect (6lug) so i returned it. the truck has 185k on her and im pretty sure these are the OG drums. Can I get by with just doing the one drum and replacing the shoes and hardware all around? Just don't want to make a mistake esp when it comes to the brakes.
