Last night my Brother was trying to fix a misfire on his daughters car. He sent me this pic.... it had been repaired before. Obviously that insert was way too deep. He took it to a machine shop and had the insert milled down.
Not sure how that could be milled and survive. There not much there lol. Bet that cost more than a insert.
Bet you could cut one down before placement though. Easily imo.
Referring to that trans you have here. Tuff Torq makes them for both manufactures Husqvarna and John Deere. That one is most likley a K46, I've had them in pieces a few times....just the 46's because they're junk lol.

Like I mentioned earlier, something different about that one. They went cheap.
Trans I have for the JD came from a Husky. Both manufacturers have their good machines and then there's homeowner specials. Those are set aside for the big box guys...junk
Nice cover, Brew. Looks better than the Reese Towpower one I bought at Walmart years ago (which appears to be very similar to your other one pictured). That should do a nice job of keeping things clean.
Keep an eye on it. I put a nice Jeep-branded OEM one on my ex-wife's vehicle, and one day noticed it was gone. Couldn't have simply fallen off, either, as it had a loop that went around the hitch box. (Thieving bastages.)
