Very nice! But yea, sucks you can't see it. They have some really nice covers for the 9.75 rear gears as well. I forget who makes them at the moment. There's one very common cover folks like to get for the trucks, those are nice as well. Damn , can't recall who makes them, -tip of the tongue sort of thing. But yea, you'll have to do a face plant to see yours once installed lol.

Vent location is much better than the original...being at the high point and more centered is a win. Looks like you could bump up hose size a bit. The instructions mention tap type...NPT or dry seal ? Probably use a good sealer and torque lightly...wouldn't want to crack that new cover. Doubt it, plenty of meat around the fitting port.

DDang, it's been a cold March...I'm ready for this stuff to go away. We had 5 or 6" of more snow a couple days back. More snow than the norm along with those frigid temps this year. Looking at the extended forecast which keeps changing, it's going to warm up a little, but still below freezing during the night.

Anyway, installed those CO detectors, ended up purchasing 5 of them in total. 2 for the house, 2 for my daughters place and another for the trailer. I got the good ones that display low ppm's regardless. Through research, I found quite a few only react when at a dangerous levels. Good news is that there isn't a hint of CO anywhere I have these installed...0.

The trailer is set up a little different with stand alone sensors that monitor, - 1 for gas, 1 for O2 depletion and the 1 just installed CO monitoring. There's also stand alone smoke detectors. I didn't want the type that combines sensors, too many bad reviews and they don't have the options the stand alone units do.

Well the Napa guys and the one autozone manager I trust who is knowledgeable, both said the drum is the new and "improved" design. One of the only reasons they said they've been given was it cuts down on drum and backing plate issues. .... idk by the looks it doesn't look improved but I guess it's just what I have to go with now.

Those are like the new designed (chev looking) CV axles. It's a cost cutting design to save metal. They've shaved almost all the new drums like this. I ran into it 3 years ago, with Raybestos drums on a F350. If you look, the lip is still there, just without all the overlay. This might help balance the drums also, since there is no other way to balance them, but it's probably more for saving money than anything else. Anyways, just a new design, as with a few other parts lately, that seem to go against the norm we are used to.

Speaking of drums.... I found 4 brand new, in the box, drums for my truck in the garage today. Oh, and AK.... I found the CO detector I was going to mount in my garage. Turns out that when you rev the Mustang a few times, it will make the CO detector go off, even if it is stored away in a box... LOL. All I had to do was follow the sound. This one was a detector I took down at the old house to paint..... and it never went back up. So.... it's going in my garage for the CO part of it.

I went downstairs this morning and the water heater is leaking. I called the home warranty place, and they are going to let me get the water heater replaced and the disposal as well under the same deductible. Glad I procrastinated on the disposal call now, lol.

Yeah I think they are just saving money on less material and or selling it for multiple uses. They have extra lug holes drilled out.

Everything seems to measure the same. I think this one is just a little boxier and the outside is straight instead of curved out to the lip.

Well that's one way to find the detector lol glad you found it. And man if only I could magically find a pair of NOS for my truck... sadly my front drums for my specific axle are like unicorn tears...

This is at only 10.9 volts. At 12 it's too bright to photograph well.

The Cobb lights. I have them in black, silver and even took off the trim for a flush look mount.
Whitey......is your car running a bit rich when cold? Typical 5.0/5.8. They all seem to put out a bunch of CO at start up. Too funny.

I was continuing to get my stuff cleaned up and ran across my big bag of lights. I LED pods in RGB, Green pods, Blue pods, but no white ones. Damn. Anyways I also found my Cobb lights and cut-table LED section lights. I think the Cobbs would work even better than the C style LED ones I posted the other day.

Yes, it runs rich most of the time.... It has 24 lb. injectors too, so it's getting a little more fuel nowadays. I was able to control it a little better in the past when I had an adjustable FPR and an adjustable MAF signal.... but my MAF adjuster croaked, and my FPR is a stock replacement. I do have a Holley adjustable FPR somewhere for it though - but I need to send my MAF adjuster in for repairs.
