That's a nice vintage piece, Whitey. The Pioneers, JVC's, and Sansuis of that era are probably bringing some coin as well. I have a Kenwood AVR from 1993 that I dusted off and put in the living room cabinet with a Chromecast Audio, but the thing keeps going into protection mode even at idle. I'm going to pull it out, take off the cover, and hit it with some air. Hopefully blowing out the cobwebs will fix it. If not, I'll likely hit up a pawn shop for something else, or just buy little amp like one of these: https://www.aiyima.com/collections/power-amplfiier I've seen some really great audiophile-level reviews of these things.

Noobs... it just mounts to the steering column, hanging. It really only supports the (wiper) module that goes in it. You can't find them new anymore.

Ohio, a guy at work has one of those mini amps, and runs some Tang Band Mini Subs in some 3D printed enclosures. Sounds damn good!

I suggest a small radius between the flange and the wall. Sharp points on things cause stress singularities (or super high concentrations) that can crack and break at very low stresses. Even a small radius lowers the stress substantially.
When using steel, the weld can act as a radius.
Engineering rule of thumb, Sharp corners always break.
