I bet those solenoids are set to purge from the cap after shutdown...just like the EVR and EVAP solenoids. You can at times hear the EVR doing so...with the hood shut. If you rest your hand on it , the cap will be vibrating enough to feel it.

IDK. I can't find any shop manuals that says what's normal.

For Sips and giggles, I blew in the new solenoid and it was a lot harder to pass air through the one port that was open on the other one. It's odd the Shop manuals don't list what should be leaking and what shouldn't. Even odder that people don't talk about this more often. Maybe people don't have smoke testers so they just ask-hole everything.
It seems the new Ford IAC will probably pass smoke from the cap since I am able to blow through it as well. I haven't installed that yet.

I'll have time to install the egr tomorrow.

Old EGR :

Reminder: I get no codes, short and long term fuel trims look normal, even with all the leaks. I do feel like the truck is idling smoother by tightening up the CAI leaks & changing the solenoid but I can't quite call it fact over imagination. It's that feeling you get when you just know how your engine normally sounds. You know, a Pseudoscience like Psychology.

I write so much in the off chance someone searches the topic. Let them be as confused as me. I'm to old to care about a build thread anymore.

Hahaha I'm not there yet. However, if I did by chance want to check say...the EVR solenoid or sensors within that system, I would probably start here for #'s. This site is more gen10 oriented, -

https://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/egrsensors.htm

Other than that, I haven't heard of smoking them. No , I haven't searched that.

Over the course of the last hour or two, I'm starting to feel "not so swell". I think it may have caught up to me.

My biggest thing I am trying to avoid is my oldest daughter catching it. We have a one day class we paid 1200 dollars for that she is taking tomorrow. Doing this 1200 now while she is in high school will save her roughly 5000 next year for her tech classes. She is going to be a state certified hair and nail technician. Probably make more money than me... when she's got it all going.

Strangely enough, when I bought this house, her room was a salon. Terminated all of the water and sewer stuff in the ceiling and wall, so I suppose it would be somewhat easy to switch back. With these ridiculous prices, I don't think my kids will ever be able to move out.

A little camper would be handy right now.
