Thinking
yea lol. my dad had 2 tempos, an 88 coupe and a 91 sedan that he bought when i was born, both were stick (which my mom couldn't drive clutch and still can't) and then that got traded in on a 94 Saturn SL2 auto, best damn car my family has ever owned and to this day i still kick myself for letting my mom sell that car 9 years ago
I still say to this day if i come across a 1st gen saturn twin cam in decent shape it will be mine come hell or high water

Just read an article with some reasonably decent sources referenced, about the warming earth trend. I've said, I so not see a reason fot so many to desire big increases in HP when my stock 265 seems so very adequate, even w an econo rear end of 3.35(?) effectively made 3.01 by tire and rim increase. Good oil selection, plugs replacement, firmer shifting trans. GOTs Mod maybe in my future. Tuner for mpg would be a deligjt so I do not foolishly fight a headwind, unknowingly.
I've read in the past of Hydrogen Generators, which reputedly help by causing a more complete burn, thus requiring less pedal and metal. They do consume 100-150 watts, as I recall. LED's can help that a bit. This is CAlif so a responsible move from a 5.4 to a 4.6 is a disallowed change, (as all changes are, unless unless a biz like Saleen stamps paperwork.)

Vehicles need balance. A 5000 HP engine and a 2 foot long bed seems.to miss that. I don't drag much in my 150. Even so, as said previously, I can generally cause myself to be first in que on days I feel the need. Previously I had a Cobra.and a Jag w a handling package that surpassed Police Interceptors. Different tools for different tasks. I have V10 logos to put on mine, but I'm torn between them and a V6 emblem. One, makes it an, I Dare Ya'. The other makes it a sleeper. Maybe a dif one in each side and Interceptor in the back.
I make a city-hwy trip 4 of 5 days that's 15 miles. I'd prefer 15-20 mpg, over 10-15. Before "things started to go wrong," the '01 4x4 5.4 got 16+ hwy at 65. I'D prefer +1 mpg, not -1. But that's me... old vet, limited income. "YMMV," is very well put. I've done a few things to help.
Look at the extra annual gas expense of 350.HP and 4.10 gears, versus 265 and an effective, 3.01. I'd have to give up "beer." And then, there's the air pollution... and for what?!? Just go burn a tire in your backyard every weekend. With the push for electric cars, (despite lack of lithium in the world for even that single purpose,) there will be a political demand for more gas tax. "Only planes, Police & Military really NEED gas."

Typing, the print is v small. After posting, it's an adequate size. I do SO many edits - missed that one. It seemed too short and simple to screw up.
