Default Sled deck

I've been wanting a sled deck because I'm planning on getting a second snowmobile and don't want to deal with parking a trailer. I cant recall ever seeing one on a half ton, would twi sleds on the back be to heavy for these trucks?

I have a screw 5.4 so the bed is pretty short but post up pics of sled decks on your trucks short or longed I wanna see what you got. Or just post up how you load your sleds!

What is the GVWR of your truck? The average weight of the screws are around 6200lbs.

Two sleds would not be two heavy. I've seen two sleds in a short bed before. Mind you they were in there sideways with the tracks hanging over the drivers side bed. Not safe (sorry no pictures, he drove by me on the highway).

The double just looks way too big and clunky IMHO. The deck is 400LBS + 1000LBS in sleds. You would be close to GVWR without people or gear in the truck.

You also would have that 1400LBS pretty high up. I would just get a trailer and be done with it.

1400 would put him well over GVWR. Most screws are load rated @ 6600/6800.

X2, it seems like a great idea to avoid getting a trailer but I'd honestly rather have my sleds on a trailer vs. in the back. I don't mind riding up onto a trailer but riding all the way up to the bed every time and having the added weight up so high, just not my thing. I'm not sure how much those sled beds go for but I bet you could get a nice two place tilt bed or even drive on-drive off for a similar price or a little more?, and avoid all that weight on the truck, and you wouldn't have all that weight up so high. You'd just have the inconvenience of storing and parking a trailer.

If you do get a sled bed, post some pics. I'm curious as to how it will look and function with two sleds in a short bed.
