Default Sct question..

Was wondering what kind of gains the sct sf3 3015 tuner gives, I've looked online but can't seem to find actual numbers/gains. Either want to get this or the diablo sport i1000. Anyone have this? What are your thoughts? Or if someone knows of the thread can you please direct me. Can't seem to find it just brings up the threads for the new eco boost tunes thanks!

What year and engine do you have? Let me know and I can tell you the gains.

Not trying to thread jack but I'm scared programming will ruin the reliability of my truck, and 2 won't do me any good considering the Output Shaft Speed Sensor on the tail shaft of my transmission is not hooked up...

PM franchi motorsports with your concern. He will reassure you that nothing bad happens with a tune only good things. You won't be disappointed in one.

For the 99 5.4, be looking at 22-25 horses to the wheels and 20-23 feet of torque on a stock 5.4. The biggest thing you see though in day to day driving though isn't nec only the power increases, but how it remaps the tranny shifting, much smoother and quicker then OEM and also how throttle lag is 95% gone.

A GOOD tuner wont hurt reliability of the truck, if anything, will help increase your tranny life. It's the $79 dollar ebay tuners or chips you have to be wary off, any decent brand tuner will run you $300 on up for a new unit typically.

And there is two types of tunes as well, preloaded tunes and custom. ( like the SCT SF3 3015 which comes with three preloaded tunes and can also hold three custom tunes as well ) Preloaded tunes are designed primarily for stock to close to stock vehicles and have a good mix of performance and daily driver friendly tunes and a custom tune can be tailored to whatever you want really within limits.

The SCT tuner is HOW a tune is uploaded, how well the vehicle runs is dependant on who WRITES the tune if that makes sense.

Hit me up with any questions, glad to help regardless of where you end up getting one, I like folks to know exactly what they are getting into BEFORE spending hard earned money.
