Just to make sure it is unlocked can I plug it into a USB power point to check it? How do I check it?

Power it up with a vehicle OBii port or USB, go to device info, scroll to bottom of screen and should say device Unmarried. If it doesn't say that specifically, ( unlocks left 5 doesnt indicate if its currently locked or unlocked ) then its prob vin locked and costs $150 to get unlocked by SCT. Also make sure the serial number on back white sticker starts with xp and not x3. Older tuners started with x3 made before 2008 and prone to failures
