Default Radio

I have a 2000 F150 with a am/fm cd radio. I am trying to put a Factory am/fm cd/cass radio in it, The wires are the same but it doesnt go all the way in. Do I need to cut something? I dont want to wreck anything.

After a bit the ford raidos will start scratching disks. Do you have the dash trim piece that surrounds the radio out?

Yes the bezel if off. The radio is hitting a bracket to keep it from sliding all the way in

Not sure if this is the case, but I believe the radios changed a little bit at some point around 2000. Are you sure you have one for a 2000?

The radio I have is a dual media unit. 2000 F150's didnt come with a cd/cass/am/fm radio , its out of a super duty. Ive been told you have to remove some of a bracket to get it to slide in. I have a friend who did it on his when he had a 150 he said bracket is part of the center dash mount

Good luck. I bought a new radio when I got mine. I can't stand stock radios. Especially when it the same stock radio that's been in the truck for 12 years.

Mine started scratching my CD's. Now I have something with a USB port, CD player, and bluetooth that works a lot better than any factory radio.
