Powerwashing the engine
Hi guys so I'm just wondering is it safe to power wash our motors? Do you recommend doing the engine cleaner that the do it yourself car washes offer or is there another way to clean my engine and make it look new again
I mildly misted mine shortly after getting it and lost 2 COP's the next day. I won't do mine again, will use a air compressor and a rag next time. But if you are going to go for it I've heard to make sure to run the engine for a bit and get it hot before doing so.
Well I knew that using the garden hose was bad because it's a lot of water in one pattern, as opposed to pressure washing that comes our spread and in a mist. So as long as I have someone in the cab raising the Rpms on and off I should be ok?

This reminds me of a story. My great grandpa use to spray oil on his engine after each oil change. (spray bottle) The truck ran forever. After he died my grandpa took the truck and washed out the engine compartment. The truck never ran after that.

I wouldn't do it unless you have access to compressed air to blow out the plug bores before starting. It's usually water in these bores that causes the coils to fail. If you blow everything completely dry-you should be OK.
